Using the library
How do I contact the library?
The librarians can be contacted via email at library@tyndalehouse.com or by phone on +44 1223 566604.
What are your opening hours?
Private Desk users can access the library from 8.00am-10pm, Monday to Saturday.
Hot Desk users may access the library from 9am-5pm on weekdays.
We are usually open to Private Desk users for more than 300 days a year.
Can I borrow books?
The library is reference only, which means all the books you need are always here.
What if I can’t find the book I need?
The library staff are happy to help you locate resources. If you want to recommend a book for purchase please email the details to library@tyndalehouse.com.
Travelling to Cambridge
What's the easiest way to travel from London Heathrow airport to Cambridge?
The easiest option is to travel by coach. National Express coaches go directly from Heathrow to Cambridge. You can book a coach ticket online at https://www.nationalexpress.com/en. Select Heathrow Airport (whichever terminal you are at) and choose 'Cambridge Parkside' as your destination.
There is also the option to buy a ticket at the airport, where there will be signs indicating where to find the National Express Coach ticket office.
Take a taxi from the Cambridge Parkside coach station to Tyndale House (36 Selwyn Gardens). A taxi rank is near the coach station. Ask your bus driver for directions if needed.
If you prefer to take the train, you can take the underground from London Heathrow to King's Cross Train Station and take a direct train from there to Cambridge. There is good taxi service from the Cambridge Train station to Tyndale House.

Can I park at Tyndale House?
Parking onsite is not available for residents, but there is parking available on some surrounding streets. Contact bookings@tyndalehouse.com for more details.
Where are the nearest grocery stores?
There is a small Co-op (Newnham Co-op) Grantchester Street, Newnham, about a 10-minute walk from Tyndale House.
The Derby Store, 26A Derby Street, sells groceries and also contains a post office.
Large supermarkets such as Sainsbury’s and Marks & Spencer’s are located in Cambridge City Centre, about a 20-minute walk from Tyndale House.
Aldi is located on Histon Road, about a 35-minute walk or a 10-minute bike ride.
You can have groceries delivered to your door through online shopping from Tesco, Sainsbury’s, ASDA and Ocado with a delivery fee. Visit their websites to learn more about this option.

Where can I have lunch/dinner?
Surrounding colleges such as Newnham College and Selwyn College, and the university Sidgwick Site have cafes open for lunch.
Nearby restaurants are The Granta (pub, English), Millworks, Salathong (Thai), Rice Boat (Indian) and Red Bull (pub).
The city centre is about 20-minute walk from Tyndale House. There, you can find a variety of restaurants, cafes, and takeaways.
